$75/hour or portion of an hour
Cleaning fee. Amount taken from security deposit should the suite not be left as it is found. If you arrive to the space and it clearly has not been CLEANED*, please take pictures and report this to us at the beginning of your stay. Since we all have a different standard of "clean", please use the general guideline for reporting unclean spaces: if you can take care of the issue(s) in under 5 minutes, do not report it to us.
*It is not OK to be a "tidier". The suite must be returned to a cleaned state: no hairs on any surface; floors swept, vacuumed, and/or spot mopped, mirrors and glass are not forgotten about, etc. If this is too much work, please stay elsewhere and we totally get it, it is your vacation! But Sleeping Bear caters to folks that want to save money AND to those who are prepared to leave the space ready for the next group coming in.
$150
Excessive noise charge. Between 11 pm and 7 am is quiet time in the village. Please do your part in keeping the quietest section of the village the quietest.
$50
Recycling and returnables left at the chalet. (Garbage can be left in the bins in the entrance of the chalet. Ensure that there is a black garbage bag in the bin before you place your bagged garbage.)
We request that you pack all returnables home with you.
There is a recycle bin in Upper Henry Parking Lot where you can bring:
In the Upper Henry bin, GLASS IS NOT ALLOWED.
You may donate your BAGGED returnables to the Ski Club. Their collection bin is at the Upper Henry lot.
$150
Smoking and vaping charge. Sleeping Bear Chalet is a NON-SMOKING, NON-VAPING property. Any smells of this nature will be charged this fee.
$50 and up
Broken items during stay. We completely understand if you or someone in your party, accidentally breaks something in the suite. Please report it to us and we generally don't ask for it to be paid for if it cost less than $50 (ex. a broken dish, pan, etc) If the broken item was something more than $50, we will likely ask for you to pay for its replacement. Again, please report ALL broken items to us so that we can keep tabs on necessary items in the suite. Also, if you arrive and a larger item is clearly broken, please take a picture and report it right away.
Guests may be billed retroactively and depending on the infraction, future stays may not be allowed.
Currently, we are allowing 1 or 2 dogs on an individual basis-- please connect with us should you need to bring your dog(s). Should your dog be given permission to stay, it is critical that your furry family member not be a barker when left alone. Should they bark continually while your group is away, a noise charge may be applied. We will also connect with you via cell phones asking that someone from your party come back to the chalet. The village is a LEASH-ON space except for one space that is marked as OFF-LEASH located in the centre of the village.
